Preview to the new features of the forthcoming version 4.4 of XGantt:

Interaction

  • The horizontal moving of layers can be restricted to a preset period for each layer individually. A period that affects the complete node can also be defined (not available in ASP.NET).
  • In the optimized state of display, nodes can be moved to other sub rows. While the nodes are being moved, a special cursor shape indicates the sub row to which they will be assigned.

Design

  • Two-colored gradients have been added for designing the pattern of table cells and time scale ribbons.
  • The layer definition now also offers layer shapes with rounded corners:

  • Whether or not the daylight saving time is to be considered can be specified for each time ribbon and each line grid individually. Up to now this was only possible for the complete time scale and all line grids together.

Filters

  • Filter conditions can be nested.
  • A new API method lets you check whether a filter that is applied to a certain activity will return the truth value "true".

Resource Scheduler

  • Lead times and follow-up times that are not linked to resource occupations can be specified.

Printing

  • Automatic page breaks are now available for charts with grouped or hierarchical arranged nodes. The breaks can be defined for each grouping level individually in a grouped chart or, in a hierarchy, down to a certain specified hierarchy level.
  • The output can be restricted to a certain time scale range that is to be specified in the printing dialog or by the API.
  • The margins' measuring unit that is displayed in the Page Setup dialog can be switched to "inches" by the API.

Miscellaneous

  • The VARCHART XGantt .NET Editions and the VARCHART XGantt ASP.NET Editions both support the .NET-Framework 4.0.
  • All editions allow the usage of the development environment Visual Studio 2010.
  • All .NET examples are available as Visual Studio 2010 projects as well.
